LITHONIA — Three people jumped to their safety while an older woman and a dog were rescued from a Saturday fire at a Silver Spur Drive house, the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department said.

When crews arrived, they saw heavy flames coming from the front of the home, fire officials said.

Firefighters rescued the woman from a second-story balcony, fire officials said, adding a dog was also rescued from the burning home.
