If I had it my way, every pet would have a loving, devoted home where all their needs are met. But the reality is that millions of amazing animals are just waiting in shelters for someone to find them. Many of these dogs, cats, and small animals are more likely to get adopted than others, and it breaks my heart to learn just how long some of them have to wait.

Luckily, there are so many kindhearted people out there who are looking for the fur babies who need love the most. Whether it’s a senior cat or a special needs pup, it’s extra special to watch the underdogs (pun absolutely intended) break free from the shelter.
Animal rescuer Rocky Kanaka is one of those people who saves pets in need. He recently met a blind senior Bull Terrier in San Diego, and he immediately knew he had to help her.

Aww! Dawn deserves her happy ending so much, and it made me smile to see how much she came to life as soon as she was out of the shelter. @Rockykanakaofficial proved to her and to his viewers that a little love really can go a long way!
“I have an old, blind dog and I cannot imagine her being in that situation. Thank you for giving her a second chance,” commented @johandsomeface. I know exactly what you mean! My family and I adore our 13-year-old cockapoo more and more with every passing day, and I can’t imagine a situation where he’d ever end up in the shelter. Still, I don’t want to judge a situation I’m not involved in!
What’s important is that the senior shelter pup is ready to start her new life! Soon, she’ll join her new friends at @frostedfaces senior dog rescue, where she’ll have easy access to veterinary care and even easier access to love. In just a little while, this sweet blind dog will be thriving with the rest of her pack.
